The Asia Pacific Trade Council consists of an appointed Chair,
two Vice-Chairs, and 8 members appointed by the Premier at the
recommendation of the Chair and two Vice-Chairs.
The Asia Pacific Trade Council is supported by a Secretariat,
which is staffed by the Ministry of Economic Development. The
Council also receives support from the Asia Pacific Foundation
of Canada under a grant from the Province.

Arthur Hara, O.C LLD (Chair) |
| Arthur Hara has a long history in Asia Pacific business, with over 40 years
experience with Mitsubishi Canada Limited, in senior management positions
including the Chairman of the Board. His volunteer activities include Chair
Emeritus of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, Governor and Past Chairman of
the Vancouver Board of Trade, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the
University of British Columbia, and Chairman of the Vancouver Summit Society
(1997 APEC Leaders Forum). Numerous honours and awards have recognized him,
including the Officer of the Order of Canada, Canada Confederation Medal,
Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal, Order of the Rising Sun (Japan), and Honorary
Doctor of Laws, University of British Columbia. |

| Carol Lee is CEO and co-founder of Linacare
Cosmetherapy Inc. With deep family ties to the history
of Chinatown, she based the company there to help
revitalize the area. She is strongly committed to that
community and is a member of the Chinatown Historic Area
Planning Committee (CHAPC), a member of the Vancouver
Chinatown Revitalization Committee and a founding board
member of BOB – Building Opportunities with Business
Inner City Societies. She also sits on the board of The
Royal Canadian Mint and is a director of the Vancouver
Board of Trade. Ms. Lee earned a bachelor of commerce
degree from the University of British Columbia and
received her MBA from Harvard Business School. She is a
member of the Canadian Advisory Board for Harvard
Business School and sits on the Faculty Advisory Board
of the Sauder School of Business. |

Arvinder Bubber has served as chairman Kwantlen University College’s Board of
Governors since 2002. He is also a chartered accountant with his own firm, A.S.
Bubber, Chartered Accountant in Surrey. He is the former Director, Revenue and
Fiscal Services Department, City of Regina; Manager, Internal Audit Department,
City of Regina. Mr. Bubber is a member of both the Surrey and Delta Chambers of
Commerce. He is also a member of the Canadian Federation of Independent
Business. |

| Charles Kim is the President and founder of Trans-Pacific Fibre Inc., Trans-West
Holdings Ltd. and I.D.L. Equipment Ltd. The Trans-Pac Group is a wholly owned
private company that specializes in wood exports to the Asian market. The
company has been credited as one of the most successful export companies in
British Columbia and is now establishing manufacturing operations in China.
Currently, the Trans-Pac Group has offices in five locations, with Head Office
in Vancouver. Mr. Kim has a degree in Economics from York University. He has
also attended the Harvard University Executive Program. |

| Brandt Louie is president of H.Y. Louie and chairman and CEO of London Drugs
Ltd. He has been a member of SFU's board of governors for the past five years
and was recently elected Chancellor. Born in Vancouver, Mr. Louie received his
bachelor of commerce from UBC and became a chartered accountant three years
later. He serves on several boards of companies and non-profit organizations,
including the Royal Bank of Canada, Canfor, the Duke University medical centre
and the Neuroscience Canada Foundation. Mr. Louie personally leads London Drugs'
charity committee, which oversees the company's corporate contributions to
health and wellness organizations, medical research, education and the arts.

| Eva Lee Kwok is chair and CEO of Amara International Investment Corp., a private
corporation with diversified interests focused on real estate and land
development, cross-cultural management and strategic partnerships. Mrs. Kwok was
recently appointed to the board of directors of the Li Ka-Shing (Canada)
Foundation. Mrs. Kwok formerly served as president and managing director of
Melcorp Mercantile Inc. and as vice-president of the Asia Pacific Foundation of
Canada. She was recently named as one of the National Post's 50 top business
women and winner of Business in Vancouver’s Influential Women in Business Award
for 2005. Mrs. Kwok is a director of Canada's Outstanding CEO of the Year Award
program and a member of the advisory board for the Conference Board of Canada’s
National Awards in Governance. |

| Pitman Potter is Director of the Institute of Asian Research at the University
of British Columbia and professor of law. His teaching and research are focused
on the People's Republic of China and Taiwan law and policy in the areas of
foreign trade and investment, dispute resolution, intellectual property,
contracts, business regulation and human rights. In addition to his academic
activities, Professor Potter continues to advise governments and private
companies on Chinese affairs. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the
Canada China Business Council and the Board of Trustees of the British Columbia
International Commercial Arbitration Centre. |

Andrew Saxton is CEO of King
George Financial Corporation, a property investment company. Mr. Saxton is also a director of Canaco Resources Inc. and The Heart & Stroke Foundation
of B.C. and Yukon. He received a B.A. in Administrative
and Commercial Studies (Finance) from the University of
Western Ontario. In 1986, Mr. Saxton began his
international banking career with Credit Suisse in
Lausanne, Switzerland. In 1988, he joined Credit Suisse
New York where he was later appointed Deputy Head of the
domestic division of private banking. Mr. Saxton joined
Credit Suisse Canada in Vancouver in 1990. In 1992, he
was appointed Head of Private Banking for the Vancouver
Branch. Mr. Saxton was also appointed to the Vancouver
City Planning Commission in 1992.
In 1994, Mr. Saxton joined HSBC in Hong Kong as Senior
Account Manager in Private Banking where he covered Hong
Kong and Japan. In 1997, he was appointed Senior Vice
President of HSBC, Private Banking in Singapore where he
covered Malaysia, Brunei and Thailand. |

| Norman Stark joined TSI Terminal Systems Inc. (“TSI”) in 2001 as president and
CEO, and in this role is responsible for company policy and all activities of
the executive branch of the company. Previously, Mr. Stark served as president
and CEO of the Vancouver Port Authority, a position he held for more than a
decade. Stark is a Master Mariner and has held positions as Harbour Master at
the Port of Halifax and Assistant Harbour Master for the Saint John Port
Corporation. |

| Jim Shepherd was appointed president and CEO of Canfor Corporation on April 30,
2004. Prior to this, he was president and CEO of Slocan Forest Products Ltd.
Shepherd has also served as president and COO of Crestbrook Forest Industries
Ltd. and was president of Finlay Forest Industries Limited. Mr. Shepherd
graduated from Queen’s University in 1974 with a bachelor of science in
mechanical engineering and has been employed in the forest products business for
over twenty-five years in both Ontario and British Columbia. |

| Grace Wong is Assistant Dean and Director, International Programs, Sauder School
of Business at the University of British Columbia. Ms. Wong has developed
extensive experience working with partners in countries such as China, Korea,
Singapore and Hong Kong, in developing international programs for degree study,
faculty development and executive development. These programs have helped to
internationalize the school and to form the basis for extensive partnerships
with key organizations, enterprises and universities around the world. In
addition to her work at the Sauder School of Business, Ms. Wong is a member of
the Canada China Business Council, the Hong Kong-Canada Business Association and
the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters. She is also the Vice Chair of the
Board of Directors of SUCCESS (United Chinese Community Enrichment Services
Society). |

|
Colin Hansen was appointed Minister of Economic
Development and Minister Responsible for the
Asia-Pacific Initiative and the Olympics on June 16,
2005. He previously served as Minister of Health
Services and as Minister of Finance. He was first
elected to the Provincial legislature in 1996 to serve
the constituency of Vancouver – Quilchena. Prior to
being elected he and his wife ran a small business in
Vancouver. He also served as vice-president of finance
and administration for the Asia Pacific Foundation of
Canada and served as director of the Vancouver-Yokohama
Sister City Society. Mr. Hansen received his bachelor of
arts in political science from the University of
Victoria in 1975.

Richard Lee was first elected as MLA in the riding of
Burnaby North in the 2001 provincial general election.
Richard currently serves as a member of the Government
Caucus Committee on Economy and Government Operations,
the Government Caucus Multicultural Committee and Chair
of the Government Caucus Asian Economic Development
Committee.
He is also a member of the Legislative Select
Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services; a
member of the Legislative Select Standing Committee on
Education; a member of the Legislative Select Standing
Committee on Aboriginal Affairs, and the Vice-chair of
the Legislative Special Committee to Appoint a Merit
Commissioner.
Richard's community service included: British
